Turgis - Mining Consultants

Capability Statement

Established in 1990 as a specialist technical consulting firm serving the mining industry, Turgis have since assisted mining companies in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Ghana, Mozambique, Madagascar, Democratic Republic of Congo, Botswana, Namibia, Tanzania, Chile, Brazil, Australia, Zambia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Norway, United States and the United Kingdom.

Turgis specialises in all aspects of the design, operation and project management of mining, processing, mechanical, electrical and logistic projects for surface and underground mines, and in the study and evaluation of mining projects. Turgis has recently completed a number of project feasibility studies that have been used as a basis for successful listings on the Toronto and London stock exchanges. The company also undertakes assignments for funding institutions in support of financing and loan draw down schemes. A number of our engineers are recognised as competent persons in accordance with the requirements of all main mining exchanges. We are experienced at N43-101 submissions and support.

Turgis’s independence is ensured by the fact that its ownership rests solely with its parent company DHV Holdings BV (Netherlands), a privately owned and independent consulting firm employing more than 5,000 people in 30 countries. Membership of the DHV group of companies provides Turgis with access to significant engineering resources world wide, and a number of proprietary technologies. Turgis’s mining expertise supplements the core DHV competencies of transport systems, high speed railway engineering, highway engineering, water engineering, power generation engineering, airport engineering, environmental, project management and asset management services.

Turgis has produced mine designs for the complete spread of geological settings during the past five years and conducts operational support for many current mine operators. This includes conventional, trackless, hybrid and massive mining methods.

Turgis has a proud record of consistency in delivery on time and on budget to Client requirements and is able to take projects through to full commissioning and production in an EPCM environment. Turgis does not undertake EPC assignments which, in our view, compromises independence.
